- Zat al-Junab (pleurisy)
- Gout

It is also used as a poultice and is traditionally considered useful for stiffness and swelling of the liver and spleen.
It is considered useful for thick or congested phlegm. Because it is regarded as an expectorant and helps expel mucus, it is traditionally used for cough and asthma.
Due to its powerful properties, it is added to various potions and ointments. It is also traditionally used in preparations for certain ailments.
